Commentary:

I think the biggest factor in my intrigue stems from the rollout of his new tape,
“The Rain” specifically the juxtaposition of his use of greyscale in content and versatility in the genres of music he dips into. Blending in and truly becoming a symbol of the bedroom/indie genre-bending, Tendai has created a world that is all but bleak, allowing his music to be the shining star for all.

His music is versatile, unlike his content and online persona. The difference intrigues me. With musical moxie, he shifts from dance to alternative to RNB while maintaining an individualistic nature about his voice and tone.

The team Tendai currently has around him, being signed to 0207—Def Jam’s UK label—definitely propels his musical trajectory. As diverse an hands-on Tendai seems to be, being both a producer and artist encapsulates the necessity for artists like him. His vulnerability and creative direction show a fierceness in his passion for artistry.
